How do I create event tags in snapAddy VisitReport, assign them and filter by them?

Event tags group events in snapAddy VisitReport by topic, region, team or trade fair type. An administrator creates the tags in the VisitReport dashboard. You then assign the tags to events and filter the event list by tags.

What are event tags in snapAddy VisitReport?

 Event tags are labels that group events by topic, region, team or trade fair type. An event can have more than one tag. Each tag is available as a filter in the event list. Tags apply to the whole organization. Only administrators create, edit and delete tags. A tag name can have a maximum of 32 characters.  

How do I create a new event tag?

 You create a new event tag in the VisitReport dashboard, in the Tags for events section of the organization-wide settings. Enter a name in the dialog and click Save

Only administrators can create, edit and delete event tags. If you do not see the Tags for events section, then you do not have an administrator role in the organization.

  1. Open the VisitReport dashboard.
  2. Select Settings and then Organization-wide settings.
  3. Go to the Tags for events section.
  4. Click Create tag.
      
  5. Enter a Name, for example "Trade Show DACH". The name has a maximum of 32 characters. The character counter below the field shows the current length.
  6. Click Save.

How do I edit or delete a tag?

You edit and delete tags in the Tags for events section of the organization-wide settings. Use the three-dot menu in the row of the tag. Only administrators can do this.

  1. Open the Tags for events section in the organization-wide VisitReport settings.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the right of the tag row.
  3. Select Edit to change the name.
  4. Select Delete to remove the tag. 

In the Edit tag dialog, change the name and click Save.

  

The tag list shows the usage of each tag, for example used for 3 events. Check this number before you delete a tag. 

How do I assign tags to an event?

You assign tags to an event in the event list of the VisitReport dashboard. Use the three-dot menu and the Select tags entry. Administrators and Event Managers can assign tags. An event can have more than one tag. 
  1. Open the Events view in the VisitReport dashboard.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the right of the event row.
  3. Select Select tags.
      
  4. Activate the tags you need with the checkboxes. Use the search field if many tags exist.
  5. Click Save.
      

How do I filter the event list by tags?

You filter the event list with the Filter button and the Tags entry. The active tag filter then appears above the list.

  1. Open the Events view in the VisitReport dashboard.
  2. Click Filter above the list.
  3. Select the Tags entry in the Filter by menu.
      
  4. Select a tag from the list. A search field is available here as well.
      

     

    The event list now shows only events with this tag. The active filter appears above the list as Tags: name of the tag. Click the x to remove the filter.
