How to set up the phone number format

How to set phone numbers according to your preferences.

Phone numbers come in many notations – with or without an international prefix, with the area code in brackets or separated by a slash. To make sure captured numbers are written into your CRM system in a clean, consistent way, you can store a preferred format.

You define the preferred phone number format in the General Settings at organization level; the setting then applies to all snapAddy products in your subscription. Alternatively, each user can choose the format individually, for example directly in snapAddy LeadResearch.

Setting the format globally

  1. Open the General Settings at app.snapaddy.com/settings/general.
  2. Choose the format you want. There are three options:
    1. Fixed format – applies to all members of the organization.
    2. Dynamic format based on the country of origin – an appropriate format is pre-selected automatically depending on the contact’s origin.
    3. Individual – each user sets the format themselves.

Setting the format individually (e.g. in snapAddy LeadResearch)

  1. Open the LeadResearch client and go to Settings.
  2. Click Phone number preset and select the format you want.

Once a format is selected, every newly captured phone number is automatically parsed into that format – part of the consistent data formatting many customers value in snapAddy.
