What is the difference between Licenses and Roles?

Licenses unlock a snapAddy product for one person for the duration of the subscription. Roles define which permissions that person has within the licensed product and can be changed at any time.

Licenses are personalized items and are chosen for the duration of the subscription. A license activates the respective product (for example snapAddy VisitReport, snapAddy LeadResearch, or snapAddy BusinessCards) for one person, so that they can use the corresponding snapAddy app. One person can hold licenses for several products at the same time.

Roles, in contrast, determine the access rights and permissions the person has within the product they are licensed for (for example User, Manager, or Admin). Unlike licenses, roles can be changed multiple times throughout the subscription period. Roles are assigned per product: a person can, for example, be a Manager in snapAddy BusinessCards and a User in snapAddy LeadResearch.

You can read more about the individual user roles and their permissions in this article: What do the user roles mean?

You can see both at a glance in the user management under Settings > Users & licenses: the roles are displayed as badges for each person (left highlight in the screenshot), while the assigned licenses are shown in the column next to them (right highlight).
